This section allows you to test patterns around rare patterns. We use regular trading hours to determine all open, high, low and close prices.
A gap is defined as the difference between the closing price of the prior session and the opening price of the next session. If the open is higher than the prior close it is considered an up gap. If the open is less than the prior close it is considered a down gap. We use regular trading hours to determine gaps. (Note: some traders define a gap as the difference between the prior day high or low and the next day’s opening price, however that is not the way we define a gap on our platform.)
A gap is considered "filled" when the opening price retraces (up or down) back to trade at the prior session’s closing price.
If the prior session's closing price does not get traded in the following session the gap is considered "Unfilled".
Day After Largest Rally in 20 Days -The prior session had the largest close to close move higher of the past 20 sessions.
Day After Largest Decline in 20 Days - The prior session had the largest close to close move lower of the past 20 sessions.
5 Higher Closes - The prior session’s closing price is greater than the closing price of its prior session - for 5 consecutive sessions.
5 Lower Closes - The prior session’s closing price is less than the closing price of its prior session - for 5 consecutive sessions.
Day After Largest Down Gap to Fill in 20 Days - The prior session opened lower than the closing price of 2 sessions ago and the prior session’s high was greater than or equal to the closing price of 2 sessions ago. The gap size was the largest down gap of the past 20 sessions that filled.
Day After Largest Up Gap to Fill in 20 Days - The prior session opened higher than the closing price of 2 sessions ago and the prior session’s low was less than or equal to the closing price of 2 sessions ago. The gap size was the largest up gap of the past 20 sessions that filled.
Day After Largest Down Gap in 20 Days- The prior session opened lower than the closing price of 2 sessions ago. The gap size was the largest down gap of the past 20 sessions.
Day After Largest Up Gap in 20 Days- The prior session opened higher than the closing price of 2 sessions ago. The gap size was the largest up gap of the past 20 sessions.
